It has been a long time and we have a lot to tell you.

Making Pixii Max

There's been a lot going on since the launch of the new Pixii Max model. The response, first, to the new model: we've been blown away by your enthusiasm. More than 1000 photographers have registered on our list in the days and weeks following the announcement. Clearly, the sensor format was a high priority feature for many of you.

Personaly, it's been a funny moment holding my first "full-frame" digital camera, and it being Pixii! I too had been waiting for this for a long time...

Launch and... stall

We started to deliver the new units in late September, beginning with customer upgrades, Then from November on, the production increased steadily with the flow of confirmation orders received from our distributors.

However, not everything went according to the plan. In fact, we knew we would have a limited output, due to our own capacity to place volume orders in advance. This is an industry were the smallest player is a thousand times bigger than we are. The new sensor was a signficant endeavor, straining our resources to their limits. Unfortunately, by October we knew the sensor resupply would be coming late and so we decided to limit new orders. In the end we to only what we were sure of. And even then, the sensor arrival continued to be pushed further. In the end, the 4 month lead time became an 8 month wait. We have been communicating with customers waiting for their upgrade to apologize and explain what was going on. We are now just calling back new cameras in advance, with the now confirmed arrival date of the new sensor batch.
